This is the 4th in the series of Short talks by Pujya Swami Dayananda and a beginning into the teachings of the Bhagavad Gita
The Essence of Bhagavad Gita Chapter 1 Arjuna Viṣāda Yoga
The first 27 verses of this chapter explain the context of the battlefield (saṅgati kathana) and the other 21 explain the description of human bondage or dependence (saṃsāra varṇana).
Duryodhana, with worry, declares to Droṇācārya in verse I. 10:
अपर्याप्तं तदस्माकं बलं भीष्माभिरक्षितम् ।
पर्याप्तं त्विदमेतेषां बलं भीमाभिरक्षितम् ॥ १-१०॥
This army of ours defended by Bhīṣma is insufficient whereas
that army of theirs defended by Bhīma is sufficient (I.10)
Aparyāptaṃ has two meanings – unlimited or insufficient. paryāptaṃ means limited or sufficient.
